Ignite Your Spirit

Ready or not here it comes! The end of the year is fast upon us.
That brings both good and bad news. The bad news is the years are
passing by faster than ever. The good news is it's the perfect time for reflection, celebration and gratitude. We have the opportunity to look at our accomplishments during the year, celebrate our successes
and acknowledge our gratitude.

Taking time to reflect, celebrate and give thanks helps renew
the spirit that resides inside us. Keeping that spirit alive is
essential for managing the more difficult times we encounter in our
business and in our life. It becomes our inner guide directing us
wisely.

Never has it been more important to ignite the flame that lights our
spirit. Uncertainty has become a way of life for us. Finding ways to cope and move forward is extremely critical today. We don't want Pogo's words, "we have met the enemy and they are us", to become a reality. Here are a few ideas to help ignite your spirit.

First, reflect on your accomplishments and list them as assets on your
personal balance sheet. Look at the different aspects of your life to
draw a complete picture. What worked well in your business? What
advances did you make in your career? How well did you manage your
finances? How did you improve and enhance your physical, mental,
social, and spiritual well-being? Use this exercise to accentuate the
positive!

Second, it's time to celebrate your success based on your reflections. Remember each small success leads to a greater success. Please don't dismiss any accomplishment as too small. It is very easy to ignore the small items and only look for those big-ticket items. Success is about the hundreds of little steps you take that eventually lead you to your dreams. Create a list of all of your accomplishments and keep the list visible as a constant reminder of your success. Read it daily. It's a simple way to keep the flames of your spirit burning brightly.

Finally, acknowledging and expressing your gratitude is another way to ignite your spirit. What do you appreciate and why? Who do you appreciate and why? At the end of the day what are you thankful for? Write it down and add it to the assets in your personal balance sheet. Gratitude is often forgotten in the daily hustle and bustle of doing business and living our lives.

Reflecting, celebrating, and expressing gratitude helps us remember
that the best things in life aren't always things!

Perhaps we can ignite the spirit of the world as we work together
for peace, abundance, joy, and prosperity in the New Year.

GETTING the MOST ENJOYMENT from the HOLIDAYS by Yvonne
Chiarelli.

Our lives are busy all year long. How do we fit those things that we doonce a year in an already overcrowded schedule? How do we fit in more time for shopping, wrapping, decorating, cooking, planning, partying, traveling? It's no wonder the holidays bring additional stress to many.

Here's a strategy that I've been using successfully for the last couple of years: From Thanksgiving to New Year's Day, I just say no to anything that doesn't directly produce money. I commit myself to creating the time and experience that allows me to express my holiday best. Here are some ways that you can put that strategy to work for you.

> Say no to meetings that aren't holiday celebrations.
> Say no to requests that could be done after the holidays.
> Say no to the routines that don't add to or support your holiday
experience.
> Say no to the non-essentials.
> Say no to the season's aspects that don't appeal to you.
> Say no to inappropriate and unreasonable expectations.

> Say yes to gratitude.
> Say yes to allowing others their desired holiday experience.
> Say yes to taking care of yourself.
> Say yes to wider boundaries and higher standards.
> Say yes to the parts of the season you enjoy the best.
> Say yes to giving thoughtfully and accepting gifts with grace.
> Say yes to expressing your best to others.
> Say yes to forgiveness.
> Say yes to fun.

Handcraft the holiday experience of your choice. Here is a success formula for enjoying the holidays:

Let go of what's not absolutely necessary

+ Participate with your family, friends, and colleagues
+ Smile and laugh a lot
+ Extreme self care

Happy Holidays
