We welcome the warmth and sunshine of spring as winter days fade away. Everything seems to come alive with a renewed energy. Nature becomes a show place filled with bright flowers, budding trees and chirping birds. Spring is a time for growth and renewal programs to begin. Perhaps you are thinking of planting a flower garden. First you decide what kind of flowers you want. Then you plant the seeds and nurture them with tender loving care. With a little water, feeding, and cultivating, those seeds will grow into exquisite flowers! Within months your garden is fully in bloom with color and fragrance. How can you apply the magic of spring to design your personal garden of growth and renewal? It all begins by planting seeds of potential that will sprout and move you closer to achieving what you want. Planting seeds of potential requires special handling. First, you don't go to the store to buy them. Second, you don't plant them in soil. The seeds are found within you and that's where they need to be nurtured with loving care. A personal garden filled with seeds of potential consists of the following six qualities. 1) Resilience. Being able to adapt and adjust quickly is a major asset for reaching your potential. Like the Slinky Toy you must be able to bounce back and forth easily. 2) Change. Every year Spring proves that nothing stays the same. Do you seek out change or just let it happen? Taking a proactive approach will help you achieve more of your potential. 3) Hope. What do you do when the going gets tough? Do you see a light at the end of the tunnel? Hope springs eternal! Seeking new possibilities keeps your energy flowing and growing. 4) Attitude. Promoting positive thoughts that promote you are essential in a garden filled with potential. There is no place for the weeds of negative thinking. 5) Belief. Having a strong belief that you can do what you set out to do is a corner stone for your growth and potential. Without that belief you sabotage yourself. 6) Lightness. You need time for play and fun. Take a spring break and enjoy what you have. Life does not have to be serious. Planting and nurturing these seeds of potential will give you a bountiful harvest in your personal garden of growth and renewal. Remember that an acorn seed has the potential of growing into a mighty oak tree. How "mighty" do you want to grow? There is no limit on what you can do and become with your seeds of potential! "Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." "Tall oaks from little acorns grow." "Why stay we on earth except to grow."
